Intel® Core™ 2 Duo

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo desktop processors are the next generation of CPUs based on the new Core™ microarchitecture. These desktop processors are up to 40 percent faster and over 40 percent more energy-efficient than their predecessors running at the same clock-frequencies.

Socket AM2

Socket AM2 is the new processor socket for AMD® desktop CPUs, introduced in May 2006. One major improvement of Socket AM2 is the support for dual channel DDR2 memory.

Socket LGA775

Socket LGA775 is the processor socket for all recent generations of Intel® desktop CPUs, including but not limited to Celeron® D, Pentium® 4, Pentium ® D and Core™2 Duo.

DDR

DDR stands for "Double Data Rate". The DDR technology made it possible to double the bandwidth of SDRAM under optimal conditions. A DDR200 module provides a data bandwidth of 1.6GB/s; therefore it is also called PC1600 memory. Likewise, DDR400 is called PC3200 memory, as it provides a bandwidth of up to 3.2GB/s.

DDR 2

Double- Data- Rate 2 memory is the latest generation of DDR memory. It dramatically improves the data transfer rates and bandwidth of conventional DDR memory.

Dual Channel DDR2

Dual Channel DDR2 effectively increases the data transfer rates and bandwidth of DDR2 memory. Dual channel DDR2 offers 30% higher bandwidth while considerably lowering power consumption. This also results in less heat build-up; thereby putting less stress on your system. To make optimal use of the Dual Channel capability, a pair of identical memory modules must be placed in matching DIMM slots. These DIMM slots are usually color coded for easier installation.

ECC

Error Correction Code memory modules have a chip count divisible by three or five. This extra chip detects if the data was correctly read or written by the memory module. If the data wasn't properly written, the extra chip will correct it in most cases (depending on the type of error).

EPP

The Enhanced Performance Profiles technology utilizes the extra space in the EEPROM to store memory configuration settings in order to optimize and maximize the performance of a memory module. As defined by JEDEC, bytes 99 to 127 store this additional information. DIMMs with EPP optimizations are still fully compatible with non-EPP enabled system BIOSes.

SLI™

The Scalable Link Interface is a technology developed by NVIDIA® to link two or more graphics cards together. The linked graphics cards will effectively work as one graphics processing unit; thereby potentially doubling the graphics performance of your system. When using SLI™, you can only utilize one graphics output and cannot use dual or multi-monitor outputs at the same time.

SLI™ X16

The SLI™ X16 technology theoretically doubles the graphics performance of standard SLI systems. Whereas the original SLI technology utilizes 2x8 PCI-E lanes (8 lanes per physical PCI-E slot), the SLI™ X16 technology utilizes the full 16-lane bandwidth of each PCI-E slot, resulting in a "32X" graphics performance designation. Motherboard chipsets using the SLI X16 technology include, but are not limited to, the nForce®4 SLI X16 and nForce® 590 SLI MCPs.

CrossFire™

CrossFire™ is a technology developed by ATI® to link two or more graphics cards together. The linked graphics cards will effectively work as one graphics processing unit; thereby potentially doubling the graphics performance of your system. When using CrossFire™, you can only utilize one graphics output and cannot use dual or multi-monitor outputs at the same time.

PCI Express

PCI Express is the next generation of local interconnect on motherboards. It effectively started by supplementing the older PCI and AGP bus and is destined to become the prevailing interconnect standard. End-users in general associate PCI Express with a graphics card slot on the motherboard. Here PCIe x8 or PCIe x16 are the most commonly used standards. PCIe in the meantime has replaced the AGP slot as the prevalent interface used for graphics cards.

AGP 8X

AGP stands for Accelerated Graphics Port. This data bus was especially designed for graphics cards. The AGP slot replaced the PCI bus as a graphics interface, as with AGP the graphics card's data can be sent directly to the processor through a dedicated pathway. Over the years the AGP standard was developed to provide increasingly higher transfer rates, with AGP 8X being the last generation.

HDMI

The High-Definition Multimedia I nterface delivers pure and uncompressed digital video and 8 channel audio, all in high definition. Now you can connect to other HD audio/video devices with one single cable. Watch videos and TV in high definition, including native 1080p – it has never been brighter and more vivid. High definition gaming offers the most immersive and thrilling moments in entertainment today.

RoHS

The RoHS directive stands for "R estriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This directive will ban the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing higher than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants. The RoHS directive is effective as of July 1, 2006. It is designed to protect human life as well as nature and wildlife.

WEEE

Directives on the restriction of hazardous substances in Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment are designed to tackle the rising tide of such high-tech waste materials. This directive complements the European Union's measures on landfill and incineration of waste. One of the most important aspects of the WEEE directive is the implementation of recycling logistics set up by the manufacturers themselves.

SATA 3 Gb/s

SATA 3Gb/s is often incorrectly referred to as SATA2, which is actually the former name of the organization delivering standardized specifications for the Serial ATA interface. The present and correct name for this organization is SATA-IO (The Serial ATA International Organization). SATA 3Gb/s is backwards compatible with SATA 1,5Gb/s. SATA hard drives are easily connected with so-called ClickConnect cables. Under the SATA specifications these SATA devices are hot-plug capable.

eSATA

eSATA is a new standard for external storage devices. With a data transfer rate of up to 3Gb/s, no other external data transfer solution can compete in speed or ease-of-use.

Gigabit Ethernet

The fastest networking standard to date, delivering 1 Gigabit/s (1000 Megabits per second) transfer rates – Connects your PC to the Internet or Local Area Networks (LANs) with breakneck speeds.

Dual Gigabit Ethernet

Now you can use not only the Internet but also host your own game server, web server or even set up an additional LAN or home network; all on one PC without the need for extra add-in cards.

PureVideo™

The nVidia® PureVideo™ technology combines hardware and software technologies to deliver unprecedented picture clarity, smooth video, accurate color, and precise image scaling for high-definition video in home-theater quality. PureVideo™ delivers high resolution video with minimum CPU usage.

nView™

nVidia®'s nView technologies enables you to use two monitors at a time. The user can either use each monitor for displaying different content, or use two monitors to show the same content. Instead of a second monitor you can also for example use a projector.

DVI

DVI stands for Digital Visual Interface. This digital graphics connector dramatically improves visual quality. It is specifically designed for flat panel LCD monitors and digital projectors. Using DVI to connect a high resolution display is the ideal solution to watch DVDs or play demanding games.

Mobile CPU Support

W ith Intel's latest mobile processors migrating into desktop computers, these computers change their looks, size and feel. Because mobile processors don't need as much power as conventional processors, they also develop less heat. The il-90MV is supporting Intel® Core™ Duo processor s with 478-pin Micro FCPGA and 479-ball Micro FCPGA packages.
