ABIT BH7 Gets Editor's Choice and 5 Star Awards from Hardware Extreme

Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., June 20th, 2003- ABIT''s BH7, following in the footsteps of the BH6, the largest selling motherboard of all time, offers speed stability and unmatched overclocking potential thanks to it''s unique 4 phase power solution, which only ABIT offers. Check out the review from Hardware Extreme, where the BH7 gets the Editor''s Choice Award as well as the 5 Stars Award.

"ABIT, a brand that is no stranger in the overclocking community, released its latest motherboard for the Intel Pentium 4 platform, the BH7.

While the elder sibling, BH6, was a legend in the overclocking community about 2 years ago during the 440BX era, could ABIT do it again with the release of BH7?

ABIT has never failed to impress the overclocking community with its Soft Menu III BIOS, which has the ability to adjust the Vcore voltage at 5% increments up to 1.95V and the VDIMM at 0.1V increments in the range from 2.55V to 3.05V. Besides that, overclockers can increase the default VAGP (1.5V) to 1.6V and also adjust the DRAM ratio.

Furthermore, the FSB/AGP/PCI frequency options allow users to overclock their FSB without interfering with the AGP and PCI frequency. This is certainly a great feature for overclocking. For the more adventurous overclockers, there is also an option to increase the FSB up to 250MHz. All the above features will certainly be much welcomed by the overclocking community.

To add to the features found on Soft Menu III, the BH7 also has the options to adjust the various memory timings such as Active to Precharge, Precharge to Active, Active to CMD and the CAS Latency in the Advanced Chipset Features.

The overclocking ability of this motherboard is rather interesting, or shall I say, very appealing, with most settings available in the bios - from External Clock (CPU/AGP/PCI) speed settings to in-depth PCI bus frequency, Multiplier factor (provided that you have an unlocked CPU), DRAM ratio, DRAM Timing selections, and lastly not forgetting the voltage settings.

The late release of the BH7 (as of i845PE motherboard) has certainly given ABIT lots of time to fine tune this motherboard. As a result, ABIT is currently the first and only motherboard that officially supports 800MHz FSB for an i845PE motherboard.

The price of the BH7 is now very affordable for an i845PE motherboard. It is probably the cheapest i845PE motherboard we''ve encountered."

"Excellent for overclocking.
- Could go up to 250FSB and x32 multiplier CPU settings.
- Proper System loop back after failure of settings.
- Many configurations available.
- Good system checkup; avoid damage to CPU and MOBO (e.g. CPU fan not running will not turn the PC on)"
