This dual Intel Xeon processor server board is not only ABIT’s debut in the server/workstation segment, but also among the very few exhibited by Intel Corporation at its Intel Xeon processor with the Intel E7500 chipset platform launch event on February 26, 2002 in Taipei, Taiwan.
Intel Xeon processor with the Intel E7500 chipset platform, featuring a 400MHz system bus, dual-processors, 64bit/133MHz PCI-X support, Hyper-Threading Technology implementation and up to 16GB ECC registered DDR system memory, is Intel Corporation’s response to high-performance, mid-range, and enterprise server requirements. Being one of Intel Corporation’s top-tier board manufacturers, ABIT has proven its capability and dedication in server board design and manufacturing.
The SI-2P server board supports dual Intel Xeon processor, 6 DIMMs, 4 PCI-X expansion slots, dual channel Ultra 160 SCSI (upgradable to Ultra 320) and one on-board gigabit Ethernet controller. What makes the SI-2P board more distinguishing is its implementation of 2 hot-plug PCI-X slots and wide support of various PCI/PCI-X speed specifications, including 33/66/100/133 MHz. With the SI-2P board and following Intel Xeon- processor enabled server models, ABIT aims to provide its customers with a high performance server platform for bandwidth and computation demanding applications, such as on-line transaction processing, ERP and file serving applications.
Along with SI-2P server board, ABIT is also going to introduce SI-2P-based bare bone systems in pedestal and rack chassis. Products will be exhibited at upcoming CeBIT 2002 in Hannover, Germany.
