Taipei, Taiwan, Monday 26 March 2001 – The Dragon Network recently reviewed ABIT's KT7A series and once again found that it is a winner. The KT7A series is "One of the best, if not the best board available for the KT133A chipset".
The Dragon Network begins with a commentary on ABIT, discussing its reputation for innovation and pushing the envelope. "Their reputation for never doing things in half-measures is well deserved. Their products continually push the envelope, and never fail to surprise us with their quality and innovation."
The Dragon Network was quick to laud the tweakability of the KT7A series. "The FSB can be adjusted from 100MHz to 183MHz, in increments of 1Mhz, with voltages ranging from 1.100V to 1.850V, in 0.025V increments."
No discussion of an ABIT product could be complete without mentioning SoftMenu. SoftMenu makes life easy for the serious computer enthusiast. "ABIT has included their excellent Soft Menu III, which allows you to make FSB, Multiplier, and Voltage changes from within the BIOS, which means no fiddling with jumpers."
The Dragon Network is also quick to point out the superior design edge that ABIT enjoys. The Dragon Network contrasts the design philosophy behind the KT7A: "Because the North Bridge can run hot, but it can be run without any cooling whatsoever, most companies opt for a standard heatsink. ABIT goes one step above once again, delivering a small and fairly quiet heatsink/fan setup to cool the North Bridge, helping ensure stability for those who are going to push their board to the limits."
With such an impressive array of features it comes as no surprise that The Dragon Network gives the KT7A series 90 percent. |
