Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C. May 22th, 2001 Germany based All-About-PC is a site that is capturing a growing audience. With content in both German and English they help in giving a European perspective with breaking news and insightful articles.
Recently they looked at the ABIT Siluro T400, the Nvidia based GeForce2 MX400 VGA card and despite lots of competition in the graphics card market, ABITs offering is one of the most solid choices for cards now based on the new chips from Nvidia. "We all know ABIT for their motherboards, and like most motherboard companies, this past year has seen them successfully taking a stab at making Nvidia-based VGA cards. Though perhaps not at the very top of the market, their catchily-named Siluro line (Siluro means torpedo in Italian) has consistently checked in at well above the norm. All this adds up to very good cards..."
For the tests, they decided to compare the T400 with two other cards similar in performance, both from ABIT: The original GeForce card, the Siluro GF256, and the original MX, the Siluro GF2 MX. They also decided to test all three cards on two different systems, one with an Athlon, the other with a Pentium 4. To see the results check out the whole article with benchmarking graphs and explanations that lead them to conclude: ABIT has done a fine job making yet another no-nonsense card in the Siluro T400. With a solid set of features, solid performance, and no gimmicky extras, it'll be the workhorse in your hardware stable. |
