Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C. 31 May 2001- ABIT is proud to announce the launch of the VR6 and VR6-RAID. This newest PentiumIII based motherboard is based on VIA's Apollo Pro 266T and VT8233 Chipsets. The VR6 and VR6-RAID are ATX form-factor mainboards designed for use with all current and future Pentium®III Socket processors (based on 100/133Mhz) and Intel Celeron®IIIsocket processors (66/100MHz). It supports all normal industry standard functions, including Advanced Configuration and Power Management Interface (ACPI), AGP 2X(3.3V)/4X(1.5V) and 200/266 Mhz (100Mhz/133Mhz Double Data Rate) memory bus settings. The VR6 and VR6-RAID feature three 184-pin DIMM sockets supporting PC1600/PC2100 DDR SDRAM modules up to a maximum of 3GB.
ULTRA DMA 100/RAID
The VR6-RAID includes VIA's VT8233 chipset for Ultra DMA 33/66/100 IDE support. The onboard High Point HPT370 IDE controller provides a 100 MB/sec data transfer rate for three system-enhancing modes. RAID 0 (striping) splits data across multiple drives increasing writing and reading performance. RAID 1 (mirroring) duplicates data creating an instant backup and improving reading performance. RAID 0 + 1 (striping and mirroring) combines the two for enhanced performance and safety.
SoftMenuTMIII
Only ABIT has SoftMenuTMIII , and on the VR6-RAID, you will find ABIT's unique SoftMenu™ III. SoftMenuTMIII I has special added features and functions that will allow the maximum performance and enhancement tweaks specifically for Intel-based CPUs, such as FSB settings from 100MHz to 166MHz in increments of 1 (84 settings). Moreover, ABIT has added CPU Multiplier Factor Adjustments, allowing the user to choose the proper multiplier factor*. The System BIOS features and supports Award Plug and Play BIOS and Write-Protect Anti-Virus function by AWARD BIOS. |
