Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI Awarded at Virtual-Hideout
"Don't get caught with your frame rates down!"

Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLIApril 17, 2007 – abit's latest release in the Fatal1ty gaming motherboard series – the Fatal1ty Professional FP-IN9 SLI – is already beginning to show its teeth in the international hardware press. Built around the NVIDIA nForce® 650i SLI™ chipset, with a design thoroughly tested and approved by Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel, the world's foremost professional gamer, the FP-IN9 SLI delivers one deadly bite and is bound to become an essential weapon in any hardcore gamer's arsenal.

The editors from technology review website Virtual-Hideout.net were presented with the opportunity to be among the first in the world to experience this powerful gaming motherboard hands on: "This isn't your basic motherboard thanks to its abit-Fatality theme. The colors are blood red PCB with black heat sinks and peripheral sockets. The heat sinks are specifically much nicer than the common passive, heat sinks seen on countless other motherboards. Heat sinks do matter when you have a great looking product that typically denotes stability. And it's nice to see that the heat sinks follow the theme of the motherboard rather than something else just to save a few pennies. Do you think any gamer wants to play on anything less than a good looking, stable system?"

Virtual-Hideout praised the stability and ease-of-use of the FP-IN9 SLI: "Three days in to fully testing the motherboard, I realized that while this board may not have every single bell or whistle as its older brother the IN9 32X-MAX, it performs absolutely rock solid. Even during overclocking and testing, the platform is simply a stable choice. When the motherboard didn't like one of my BIOS settings, it simply seemed as though it just needed powering off and on to get it back to form. A quick BIOS change and it was back to testing […] Compared to many other boards, the RAID installation went well without issue and 3D graphics never once let me down."

Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLIThe editors conclude their tests by bestowing the Budget Gamers Award upon the FP-IN9 SLI, and further commends upon the extended performance features, such as the factory overclocked Super Charged System Bus, which adds extra speed to give the board and its users an unrelenting competitive edge: "Performance is surprisingly good, yet well worth every penny. The layout is simple and clean with very few real issues in terms of connectivity or function. Features are right on with the 650-SLI Chipset and offer the Supercharged System Bus. This is further evidence the 650-SLI is quite a bit more capable with a little extra juice under the hood […] It's best work is done in game and during those hard hours behind the keyboard slaying monsters and fragging the world […] With a Supercharged System Bus, what more could you want from the abit FP-IN9 SLI Motherboard? […] this is one of the simplest choices you could make if you don't have a lot to spend and want good frame rates instead. The platform offers a little bit of both worlds, including SLI capabilities. Gamers of all styles will appreciate its stability, layout, and design. The Supercharged System Bus is quite the benefit which helps keep those frame rates and bandwidth up, while keeping the price down. It's really an easy choice and fills a void many gamers have been waiting for. Don't get caught with your frame rates down!"
