abit Launches iDome Digital Speakers
"delivering digital audio excellence in the most elegant way"

October 5, 2006 – abit is proud to introduce the world's first truly digital speakers for the PC market, the abit iDome . abit 's high quality solution consists of two compact speakers and a separate sub-woofer with built-in digital amplifiers that bring crystal clear music to your ears. Compared to traditional digital amplifiers, the abit iDome does not go through an analog pre-amp during the DSP and amplification stages. Instead, with the help of abit's patented µGuru™ technology, the iDome architecture gets a clear advantage because of the independent micro processor, the completely digital control, low signal distortion and highly enhanced effect settings.

Ensuring the best performance from DVD-audio, DVD-video and audio-CD, the abit iDome supports 24 bit/192KHz Digital Audio. Compared with generic speakers that only support 24 bit/96KHz, the abit iDome offers more than double the sampling frequency rate for a true and accurate reproduction of the original recording.

The abit iDome has 6 different DSP modes that are easily accessible from the front panel: Normal Mode reproduces the sound exactly like the original source; Game Mode immerses the gamer during game play; Music Mode enhances the classical experience; Movie Mode enables dynamic and immersive resonance, and Rock Mode delivers raw thrashing bass reverberations, while Jazz Mode is the choice for perfect pitch and those tingling mid-ranges and highs.

On the back of the abit iDome are connectors that allow for multiple ways of linking up your sound system. It supports optical S/P DIF as well as analog connections from your abit motherboard or other sound source. Naturally, the abit iDome is fully backwards compatible with older analog technologies. The iDome also features a Medium Density Fiber cabinet, which utilizes a pure cotton weave, efficiently preventing unwanted resonance, thus delivering a sonic performance that is exceptionally tight and clear.

The abit iDome subwoofer offers the patented DBX™ (Deep Bass eXhaust) technology. This kind of subwoofer enclosure can be physically described as a closed box with an opening in the bottom part. When the 6.5 inch driver moves in, the pressure is increased and when the driver moves out, it is decreased. Both movements create pressure differences between the air inside the enclosure and the air outside. The air will always move to equalize pressure levels, so the driver is constantly being pushed toward its "resting" state – the position at which internal and external air pressure are the same. It acts like a spring to keep the driver in the right position, which makes for tighter, more precise bass sound reproduction.

abit iDome – the only 100% digital experience in PC audio today!
