June 19, 2006 – abit is put to the test by Aaron Breceda from Driverheaven, grilling abit's PR manager Peter du Preez for all the latest news and happenings at abit HQ in Taiwan, read on for some highlights:
abit was happy to invite Aaron for this exclusive tour of their luxurious HQ, giving him live demonstrations of interesting and upcoming projects. Needless to say he was not allowed to publish all he saw, but what he did see, made him very excited. Below are some comments from his article: "abit, the name is known, and for good reason, they are one of the top motherboard choices for enthusiasts the world over. abit has been a leader in breakthrough motherboard technologies time and time again, however, they also find some of their achievements cloned shortly after reaching the market … the most recent example of this would be with their patented Silent OTES technology."
When asked to comment about the new corporate alliance between USI and abit: "we have switched to 100% Japanese caps, have much more resources to pull for our R&D department, both of these things will increase the quality and compatibility of our boards exponentially. But even if a manufacturing defect were to occur, we now have an extra 22 RMA centers around the world to help our customers with convenience and ease."
One impressive board noted to be showcased in the near future: "The Fatal1ty AN9-32X will support AMD's AM2 processor (which also means DDR2 support). It will have the nVidia C51XE Northbridge and MCP 55PXE Southbridge chipsets with abit's AudioMAX 7.1HD sound card (not pictured). Since Fatal1ty is the gaming line, expect two PCI-Express 16x slots with an extra power conduit in between the slots for added stability. And since abit is always in the habit of making things better, please notice the new locking mechanism for the video cards which promises to make installing and removing leagues easier. Some added bonuses are dual Gigabit LAN, abit's Silent OTES GT, easy pull tabs (for quick changing of jumper settings), abit's new UGURU chip which offers better communication and stability, and one of the new technologies we mentioned earlier, Live on USB."
To quote our General Manager Mr Jason Hsu: "abit is back!"
