17. Maz, 2006 – The team at TweakPC.de took a close look at the ABIT AN8 32x and did a series of hardcore overclocking tests. Their conclusion was clear:
"A trully phantastic result." The ABIT AN8 32x motherboard does not only offer excellent hardware for high-end PCs but also exhibits outstanding overclocking and system monitoring features. The user can use the ABIT SoftMenu within the BIOS or the ABIT µGuru under Windows to tweak and also monitor the system.
"BIOS and overclocking, those are the two main factors that built the ABIT brand. The very best of ABIT's overclocking features thus still remain in their famous ABIT µGuru software utility." But if you intend to push your computer to its limits, respectable overclocking also needs sophisticated system monitoring. In this very department ABIT's µGuru can show off quite a bit as well.
"As for fan control the ABIT AN8 32x is exemplary. Each fan can be controled temperature-dependant according to the attached sensor. By utilizing the µGuru there are more than enough monitoring features also including beeps and shutdown options."
Perfect cooling with ABIT's OTES Heatpipe
"The Northbridge and Southbridge are as usual equipped with heat sinks. But in this case, these are also connected through a far bigger heat sink and a heatpipe. This bigger heat sink is located at the ATX back panel, this way the heat sink can easily be cooled by the air flow of the CPU, power supply or case fan. Everyone knowing a bit about mainboards understands, that exactly at this location most of the time a lot of caps can be found. So it is only logical to also cool these with this solution. And that is exactly what ABIT realized on the AN8 32x motherboard."
