AN8 32X Wins Recommended Award
Overclocking and fan-less design impresses in Norway

April 7, 2006 – Hardware.no, Norway's dominating force in online hardware review and one of Northern Europe's biggest enthusiast oriented websites, just conducted a thorough test of the ABIT AN8 32X motherboard. The editor found the AN8 32X to be a remarkably potent piece of hardware, exhibiting some stellar overclocking performance: "250Mhz is passed relatively fast. The next target is 270Mhz. After this we pass 280, 290 and 300Mhz. As a matter of fact, we end up on 310Mhz HTT before we are forced to reduce the multipliers of the HyperTransport-channels between the CPU and the chipset."

This editor didn't give up in his search for the maximum HTT overclock, and the final results of the AN8 32X proved to be well ahead of the competition: "After reducing the multiplier, we managed to reach as high as 360Mhz HTT before the system became unstable."

Conclusion: "All in all, we are very satisfied with this board. The board has excellent performance, enough upgradeability, and it's completely fan-less."

In fact, the editors at Hardware.no were so impressed by the AN8 32X that they decided to give it a massive high-score of five out of five points, and went on to honor it with the much coveted "Recommended Award".
