At this year's Cyberathleteâ Professional League (CPL) Winter Championships, gamers sponsored by ABIT took on the best PC gamers in the world in one of the year's most exciting tournaments. With the dust settled, ABIT Gamers dominated the competition, with strong showings in the Counter-Strike, DOOM 3, and Painkiller disciplines.
As the world's most popular on-line game, Counter-Strike emphasizes strategy, aim, and teamwork. ABIT-sponsored Team NoA took the field, and managed to make CPL history, becoming the only team to come from the lower bracket and take 1st place in a major event!  DOOM 3 is one of 2004's hottest releases, featuring intense gameplay and never-before-seen levels of graphics detail and realism. At CPL Winter 2004, ABIT-sponsored Meng "RocketBoy" Yang and Stefan "dragon" Schott from Team Dignitas demolished the competition, grabbing 1st and 2nd place respectively. When asked about his spectacular finish, RocketBoy said "it has been a dream of mine to be able to come to a major event and win 1st place. I would like to thank ABIT for helping me make that dream come true, and for supporting gaming and the community the way that they have."
 Best known for winning 1st place at the Inaugural Quakecon 2004 DOOM 3 Championship just six months earlier, Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel proves once again his ability to compete at the highest levels in any discipline he trains in, taking 3rd place at this year's CPL Winter Painkiller Tournament. Fatal1ty, along with ABIT, also hosted the ABIT Fatal1ty Time Trials that pitted CPL attendees against each other in an Unreal Tournament 2004 deathmatch. 4 winners every day of the show were chosen to receive some amazing prizes, including Creative sound cards and the ABIT Fatal1ty AA8XE motherboard.
