ABIT RX800 Pro Wins 5 Star Rating from AVAULT
Screaming new graphics card receives perfect score

September 6, 2004 – When it comes to PC graphics, people have traditionally had to choose between image quality and performance. Want better frame rates? Better turn down some of the details and special effects. Now, with ABIT's new RX800 Pro, users are discovering that they can have their cake and eat it too. Gaming authority The Adrenaline Vault recently put the RX800 Pro through a series of gaming tests, and decided to rate it with a perfect 5 out of 5 score!

Not even the toughest benchmarks are a problem for the RX800 Pro: "What was most impressive about these benchmark results was a FPS of 46.7 on a 1600x1200 resolution. The Code Creatures bench has always been widely used as a testing application that can usually bring a system to its knees, and yet even at such high resolutions the ABIT RX800 Pro still pulled through like a champ."

Of course, people don't buy graphics cards to run benchmarks… they buy them to play games! Here is how the RX800 performs in UT2004: "The ABIT RX800 Pro performed exceptionally well during this benchmark. Seeing as how DM-Antalus is a lush, outdoor level I half-expected the X800 Pro to perform a little lower in the high detail test, but it prevailed rather nicely. The low detail results were right on par as well. DM-Asbestos is an indoor map and the only real challenge it provides for graphics cards to overcome is some random spots of steam and lighting effects. As such, the High Detail test results were excellent, given the fact that you could play up to 10 people at once with all-out graphic quality, and still avoid major frame loss."

The verdict? "Through all of the testing, benchmarking, and real world gaming, the ABIT Radeon X800 Pro never faltered and I constantly found myself in utter amazement at the sheer power this card yields. Some of the benchmarks and real world testing results simply blow away the best efforts of chipsets that have come before it...For those of you that are using Radeon 9600's, GeForce 5600's or anything lower, I highly suggest contemplating switching over to a higher-end card like the ABIT RX800 Pro. With new games like Doom 3 producing near-realistic visuals, there's no reason to settle for sub-par imagery just to get high frame rates.★★★★★"
