July
21, 2004 – Enthusiasts that demand the absolute best performance
choose ABIT more than any other brand. Top PC hardware site Hard|OCP took
a close look at ABIT's latest offering – the AA8-DuraMAX.
With BulletProof stability and outstanding overclocking performance, the
folks at Hard|OCP saw it fitting to bestow the AA8-DuraMAX with their
coveted Must Have Hardware Award.
Here's Hard|OCP on AA8-DuraMAX stability: "My initial thoughts
are that the ABIT AA8- DuraMAX is one of the most stable boards that we've
have had the pleasure of testing in a while. I had absolutely no problems
during any phase of testing with this board and am actually quite surprised
since this board does have such cutting-edge technology abundantly sprinkled
about its surface. This board further proves ABIT's continued domination
in a marketplace that is becoming fierce with terrific competition...If
you have to have the latest and greatest, then this is definitely the
board for you."
BulletProof
quality goes a long way: "The most important thing to remember
about the ABIT AA8 is that it worked exactly like it should every step
of the way and quality like that out of the box is worth a lot now days.
ABIT is easily asserting themselves as a major force to be reckoned with
in the world of motherboards. They have simply gotten better and better
at what they are doing over the last two years and that brings with it
fierce brand loyalty which already rang true along with the ABIT name."
The verdict? "The ABIT AA8-DuraMAX has stepped up to the
plate and proven to be a very worthy enthusiast motherboard. The AA8 handles
the high power Prescott CPUs much more eloquently than many of the aging
i875 chipset motherboards we have seen that were technically not up to
Prescott spec. The AA8 offers all the voltage tweaks you could possibly
need on a i925X motherboard including CPU, Ram, and northbridge. To our
knowledge this i925X chipset will be supporting Intel's upcoming 1066MHz
bus speed, so we thought 266MHz FSB was a sure thing although we have
yet to see any 925X board that would do it. That aside, the ABIT AA8 hardly
let us down and let us make 750MHz of extra power with very little effort
whatsoever and we felt comfortable doing it. The ABIT AA8 was simply made
to overclock."

quality, reliability and stability engineered for long-term, problem-free
use. All of ABIT motherboards are Advanced Durability tested and approved.
ABIT looks to all motherboard makers to make a similar durability
commitment to the end-user. |
