ABIT Introduces single processor workstation board to extend product range(WI-1P)

Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., Apr. 12, 2004 - ABIT Computer announces a new entry workstation WI-1P with Intel 875P N.B. supporting 800MHz FSB and a maximum of 4GB memory capacity with ECC parity check for data integrity.

The WI-1P deployed Silicon Image Sil3114 with 4 extra SATA ports in addition to 2 supported by S.B., providing totally 6 SATA ports design to meet expanding storage demands for workstation and power users. Furthermore, a RAID 0, 1, 10, or JBOD architecture is also supported for data protection. An additional RAID 5 will be provided later as an enhanced version.

Benefits from the particular S.B.(6300 ESB) adopted by WI-1P, the high throughput SATA devices do not have to sacrifice performance by traditional PCI Bus running at limited bandwidth. With the 64-bit/66MHz PCI-X data bus capability, the 4 additional SATA devices could be operated at full-load for a busy & mass data transfer.

The WI-1P also features with Gigabit Ethernet through CSA bus to enable a high performance connection to the network. To broaden the application segments other than traditional workstation or media center, WI-1P bears the famous SOFTMENU extraction for ABIT Power Users, not only will they be able to experience the joyful extra-ordinary performance of the workstation level of boards, but also to enjoy the over-clocking ability they have already been familiar with.
