May 28, 2004 - After a highly successful showing at E3 2004,
ABIT is proud to announce the next destination for the world's best
gamer: Computex 2004. On June 3rd, show goers will have a chance
to meet three-time CPL Champion Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel,
and challenge him to a four-minute match. Those able to score points against
Fatal1ty will win some great prizes. Those that manage to beat the champ will
walk away with a whopping NT$100,000 in cash.
"The buzz about Fatal1ty was tremendous at E3,"
notes ABIT Marketing Director Scott Thirlwell. "At Computex 2004,
gamers in Taiwan and all of Asia will know the level of skill and professionalism
Fatal1ty possesses."
Fatal1ty will be appearing in front of the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department
Store, located at Taipei's Warner Village. From 12:00 to 5:30, 50 lucky
gamers will have the opportunity to participate in the Fatal1ty50 Shootout on
a first-come, first served basis. There will also be two lucky draw sessions
for everyone in attendance.
Fatal1ty will also be joining the ACON4 Global Gaming Tournament,
hosted by ABIT, Intel, Kingston, ATI, Western Digital, and
Dong Feng Yueda Kia Motors. There, he will join the ACON4 finalists
in an exhibition tournament, based on the popular Counter-Strike game. He will
also be a guest commentator for the event, as well as introduce the Fatal1ty
Pro Tour. ACON4 Finals are scheduled for June 6th, 2004 in
Shanghai, China.
"I am honored to be able to hold the first Fatal1ty Shootout in
Asia at this year's Computex," says Johnathan "Fatal1ty"
Wendel. "Gaming has been developing in Asia for years, and I believe
that participating in this and ACON4 will further promote e-sports and its community."
