March 18, 2004 - When Hard|OCP reviews hardware, PC
enthusiasts sit up and take notice. This time, the editors took ABIT's
R9800XT video card and put it through their usual battery of tests. The
results impressed Hard|OCP, as the editors proclaimed that "With
the ABIT 9800XT, you will without a doubt have a hardcore gamer's video
card sporting the best 3D rendering technology that money can currently
buy."
Want the smoothest UT2004 experience available? The ABIT R9800XT fits
that bill perfectly: "We were amazed how well the UT2004
Demo performs. At 1280x1024 with 2XAA and 8XAF we were able to play a
16 player multiplayer game in the Assault game mode and achieve around
40-70FPS which was perfect for gameplay. In a huge 16 player Onslaught
battle near a power core where all the action is FPS only dropped into
the 40's at this setting. 1280x1024 2XAA/8XAF is definitely the sweet
spot for the ABIT 9800XT in the UT2004 demo."
Here
is Hard|OCP on Prince of Persia gaming with the R9800XT: "The
ABIT 9800XT produces some impressive graphics in this game, the visual
quality is stunning. For performance we found the best setting to be 1024x768
with 2XAA and 8XAF. Having AA and AF really helps increase the image quality...Keeping
the game at 1024x768 with AA and AF enabled high image quality smoothing
out the jaggies and textures while giving us very playable performance
numbers. In many of the levels we were hovering around 50FPS."
The verdict: "If you are in the market for the absolute
best enthusiast card right now to play games on the 9800XT is your best
bet...there is no doubt you will be pleased with its performance and features.
With the ABIT 9800XT, you will without a doubt have a hardcore gamer's
video card sporting the best 3D rendering technology that money can currently
buy."
