1/16/2004 - When it comes to high-octane computing, it's
tough to beat a system based on ABIT Engineered hardware. Malaysian magazine
PCPlus reviewd the new ABIT KV8-MAX3 in the nForce 3 Mobo comparison test,
and after some rigorous testing, found that was truly something special,
awarding it with their Performance Award!
PCPlus was quick to point out some of the innovations made possible by
ABIT Engineering on the KV8-MAX3, including the revolutionary µGuru™ Technology:
"ABIT KV8-MAX3 features a distinct lack of any legacy peripheral
connectors such as serial and parallel ports. Additionally, this particular
motherboard also features the OTES cooling system which helps enhance
the stability of the motherboard. ABIT's new uGuru software and hardware
tools, which enable the user to monitor and change specific BIOS settings
while in Windows such as FSB, voltages and so on without having to reboot
the system. "
What
else is so different about the KV8-MAX3? PCPlus had this to say: "A
whopping six SATA connectors are on board; two from the VIA VT8237 Southbridge
and the other four from the Silicon Image SATA controller chip."
The verdict? "ABIT's KV8-MAX3 topped the charts in nearly every
single benchmarking test we ran. ABIT is no stranger to producing top
notch performance motherboards and the KV8-MAX3 continues to build on
that reputation. "
