Taipei,
Taiwan, R.O.C., November 26, 2003 - Enthusiast hardware site
HardOCP.com has released their new System Building Guide 0403 recommendations,
and for both the Intel and AMD segments, ABIT's IC7-MAX 3 and NF7-S are
recommended respectively.
HardOCP talks about their system guide in general: "With the
holiday season upon us, many of you will be building new boxes, modding
new boxes, upgrading old ones, and asking Santa or Momma Clause for that
extra something special. What we want to do here is give you our recommendations
for putting together a killer gaming and overclocking rig, while not spending
your entire life savings and having to go into indentured servitude to
pay it off. Being very budget minded persons ourselves, we try our best
to purchase hardware that will give us the most bang for our buck."
Here is their AMD motherboard recommendation, the NF7-S: "Depending
on whom you talk to and where you look, there are currently two favorites
in the AMD camp for motherboards, both being based on the NVIDIA nForce2
Ultra400 chipset. These motherboards are the ABIT NF7-S v2.0 and…(another
brand)... Both boards have their own unique strengths and weaknesses,
but the ABIT edges out the...(other)...board as far as pure overclocking
potential."
And
on the Intel side, the IC7-MAX3: "There's really only one motherboard
that stands above the rest in the Intel camp - the ABIT IC7-MAX3. This
hardware masterpiece boasts incredible voltage and performance related
options, as well as the OTES cooling system and a plethora of built-in
components. No other board to my knowledge has the sheer amount of overclocking
potential by default."
