FanEQ™ is another component of ABIT's exclusive µGuru™ technology. For
tweakers and overclockers, excessive system heat means death. Keeping
the system cool with efficient airflow is a system-building basic principle.
However, more and more users are discovering that adding more and more
powerful fans to their systems produces an unwanted side effect: excessive
fan noise. What if there was a way to get the maximum amount of cooling
while maintaining the sanity of family members and roommates in close
proximity? With FanEQ™, you can.
Why ABIT FanEQ™?
ABIT FanEQ™ technology allows users to intelligently control and monitor
the fans in their computer systems. With FanEQ™, users can:
- Lower overall system temperatures, increasing stability and enhancing
overclocks
- Minimize excessive fan noise
- Intelligently monitor fan activity
With this guide, users can get the most out of FanEQ™ equipped ABIT
motherboards.
Here
is the CPU Fan monitor in FanEQ™. You can choose one of the three
presets (Cool, Quiet or Normal), or you can choose User Define and
set your own low and high temperature thresholds. Fan voltage and
RPMs are listed on the graph's vertical axis, while the horizontal
axis shows temperature. You can also Disable FanEQ™, but why would
you want to? |
This
is with FanEQ™ Disabled. Notice now the selections on the left are
greyed out. |
This
is the Northbridge Fan section. Similar to the CPU Fan section, you
can also select a preset or define your own thresholds. Be sure to
click "Apply" to save your settings. |
