- SubzeroTech, a site run by guys who just love technology, loves the
ABIT IC7-MAX 3. They gave it an Editor’s Choice award. Here are the highlights:
"the IC7 series by ABIT received rave reviews from many
fellow writers, and when people heard ABIT was making a "revision"
of it geared towards hardcore overclockers a lot of us, myself included,
wondered how they could possibly make something worthwhile for the customer
(especially after the original revision performed so well). I am happy
to say that the MAX3 completely, totally, utterly blew away all of my
expectations with outstanding good looks, incredible engineering, and
the best power and cooling provisions I have ever come across all on one
board.
ABIT Engineered
The 4-phase power is brought to you via many high quality Rubycon
capacitors. This tells me ABIT went ALL OUT when they made this. They
have one more phase of power than most systems to ensure clean power,
they are using the best capacitors, AND they are cooling the whole deal.
It really makes one pause and appreciate the depth of the engineering
here. This all made itself evident when the board outperformed everything
else I have used to date.
There is no excuse to run this motherboard at default speeds.
It just does not make sense, it is a premium board with premium features
and as such deserves to be considered only in the upper echelons of performance.
Conclusion
Simply put there really are no deficiencies in this board. The
analyst community has been speaking with one voice for a change...The
ABIT MAX3 came here to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and quite clearly
it is all out of bubble gum. For these reasons I must bestow upon this
mainboard the SubZeroTech Editor's Choice Award for excellence in performance
and design."
