ABIT Releases the AI7 : The First Motherboard With a Second Processor

Taipei, Taiwan, September 19th 2003-No stranger to innovation, ABIT Computer today releases the AI7, the first motherboard with intelligent hardware monitoring and overclocking features that can be saved to a micro-processor: μGuru. Based on the 865PE chipset, the AI7 also comes with Game Accelerator, a BIOS tweak that allows users to increase their performance up to 30%.

Take Your Hardware to a Higher Level

μGuru is a new microprocessor designed by the ABIT Engineers for use only on ABIT motherboards and which allows end-users to reach a higher state of hardware awareness and enlightenment. μGuru acts as a spiritual guide, sharing with ABIT users, tips for hardware monitoring, overclocking, BIOS flashing and audio tweaking functions in an easy to use, Windows-based interface.

μGuru combines the ABIT Engineered features ABIT EQ, ABIT FanEQ, ABIT OC Guru, ABIT FlashMenu, ABIT AudioEQ and ABIT BlackBox into a user-friendly interface providing users the perfect environment with which to maximize performance and stability. Operating as an independent microprocessor, μGuru effectively frees your CPU resources from performing these functions, further increasing system performance.

As a part of the motherboard, only μGuru can completely understand how to optimize the motherboard for ultimate performance. What truly sets μGuru apart is it’s onboard memory that allows users to save their favorite overclocking settings for specific applications. For example, with OC Guru users can choose their favourite overclocked setting that will be saved when the PC is rebooted.

Better BIOS, Better Gaming With Game Accelerator

Within ABIT Softmenu™, Game Accelerator allows AI7 users to increase performance through the following options:

Auto
Turbo
Street Racer
F1

Users have a choice between "Auto", "Turbo", "Street racer" and "F1" so they can optimize their system performance according to their memory modules. With each setting, users can push their overall PC performance further and further. Those who select F1 in the BIOS settings are looking to get Formula 1 performance from their desktop PC, and so should be prepared to unleash raw computing power.

WARNING: When using F1 performance take the necessary precautions! Inadequate cooling and inferior hardware could result in system burnout, financial hardship, or even death!

Fully Featured and Fully Loaded

The ABIT Engineers designed the AI7 with 4-phase power for more stability while overclocking, particularly when using the new 800 MHz FSB CPUs. With the AI7, users have 2 SATA ports and 2 parallel ports, meaning ABIT users can have 2 channel SATA RAID 0/1. And, for the ultimate in connectivity to peripheral devices, the AI7 comes complete with 3 Firewire ports and 8 USB2.0 ports!

Only ABIT offers SPDIF In/Out for the ultimate in multimedia connectivity. Due to our extensive experience in audio technology with our speaker systems and AU-10 sound card, ABIT motherboards undergo rigorous testing at the ABIT Audio Research Laboratories in Taipei, Taiwan, ensuring that audiophiles and gamers alike will be satisfied with the richness and clarity of ABIT onboard audio: ABIT is the only Dolby-certified motherboard maker. Thus, for the AI7 we have used the Realtek 658 codec with Jack Sensing Technology. With ABIT’s Audio EQ technology, AI7 users get all the features of more expensive soundcards, built right into the μGuru processor.
