Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., July 10th, 2003—Recently Nexus
Hardware looked at the ABIT NF7-S. Based on the NVIDIA® nForce™
SPP chipset, supporting the latest AMD Athlon XP CPUs with a 333MHz front-side
bus, and featuring new dual 400MHz DDR memory controllers, ABIT''s NF7-S
gives a super stable AMD platform. Nexus Hardware gave it an Editor''s
Choice Award.
Built For Overclockers, By Overclockers
"The NF7-S is equipped with an AwardBIOS, and it gives the
user complete control over the motherboard. The Softmenu III section of
the bios is extremely feature rich.
With the massive amount of voltage available on this board, overclocking
was definitely one of ABIT''s priorities. Armed with watercooling, we went
to work with a 3200+ and several sticks of PC3500 memory. We were most
pleased with the result. We maxed out our ram with little difficulty,
and sped along at a pleasing FSB speed of 235mhz. Further overclocking
could have been achieved with even more extreme cooling. VCore up to 2.3,
as well as the available chipset voltages create a stunning array of options
for the overclocker. The overclocking capabilities of the ABIT NF7-S are
absolutely stellar.
The
NF7-S is a very enthusiast orientated motherboard, and the enthusiast
will have nothing but an enjoyable overclocking experience. This is no
doubt what ABIT was aiming for, and they met their goal without breaking
a sweat. Often overlooked by other reviews is the onboard sound included
with the NF7-S. The Soundstorm technology shows a leap in onboard sound
solution, as it managed to minimize CPU usage better than any other onboard
sound I''ve seen to date.
Overall, this board is an overclockers dream, an enthusiasts
paradise, and a perfect base for a guru''s God Box."
