Website The Tech Report has recently had a look at ABIT's BH7. After putting it
through their usual thorough analysis, reviewer Geoff Gasior concluded "for
hardcore enthusiasts and overclockers looking to build a screaming system
without breaking the bank, I have yet to see a better board."
Built to Hit an 800 MHz FSB!
"The fact that the BH7 also worked, for us, with Intel's
latest 800MHz front-side bus CPUs makes the board potentially more future-proof
than the bulk of its 845PE-based competition, too. And let's not forget just how
speedy the BH7 is with that faster bus."
A No-Frills Mean Overclocking Machine
"Since ABIT is very much hyping the BH7's ability to run with
an overclocked 800MHz front-side bus, the board almost looks like it could
compete with Intel's new Canterwood and Springdale platforms. With native
support for Intel's 800MHz front-side bus, dual channel DDR400 memory, AGP 8X,
and a host of ICH5 south bridge extras, Intel's Canterwood and Springdale
platforms offer more features than the BH7, but those extras come at a price;
the BH7 costs less than half as much as the cheapest currently available
Canterwood-based motherboard, and Springdale isn't out yet."
"At the end of the day, the BH7 is a great motherboard for
anyone looking to push a Pentium 4's front-side bus. With swanky capacitors and
a no-frills approach to peripherals, ABIT has built a worthy successor to the
BH6 that's likely to make enthusiasts giggle with joy for years to come."
