Taipei, Taiwan, ROC, February 12th 2003-
AMD, maker of award-winning Athlon XP, Athlon and Duron processors, has
announced that the ABIT KD7 series motherboards are now recipients of AMD
validation for all AMD processors up to 3000+.
According to AMD, Recommended AMD Motherboards are "a service to AMD
customers and resellers to ensure a positive user experience with the AMD Athlon™
XP processor. Due to the complex nature of the issues affecting reliable
processor operation on a motherboard, AMD selects the most popular new
motherboards to evaluate using an internally developed suite of BIOS,
electrical, and software tests. This test suite has been developed to ensure
compliance with motherboard design guidelines for the AMD Athlon™ XP processor.
To ensure reliable operation, the AMD Athlon™ XP processor should be used in
conjunction with one of these recommended motherboards."
ABIT's award-winning KD7 series is based on the VIA KT400 chipset and is
available with optional RAID (KD7-R), gigabit LAN (KD7-G) and serial ATA
(KD7-S/G). Also offered using the KT400 chipset, is the full-featured AT7-MAX2
offering 10 USB ports, 3 Firewire and S/PDIF out. Also offered for the AMD CPU,
using the nForce2 chipset is the NF7 Series, including the NF7-S, the NF7 and
