Taipei, Taiwan, ROC, February 11 2003-Top enthusiast
hardware site HardOCP has reviewed the latest in the MAX series, the IT7 MAX2 v
2.0 and has given it a glowing recommendation as well as their highest
accolades: the Top Pick!
Incredible Features
"I really enjoyed this board. From the aggressive bios settings
possible to the independently settable PCI and AGP buses, the board was set up
to be fast and stable. I felt like I was having my cake and eating it too. The
wealth of features offered as standard was also a major selling point. Raid with
4 channels (2 IDE, 2 SATA) giving a possible 10 system IDE devices, 8 USB 2.0
port, 2 IEEE 1394a ports, an awesome onboard sound chip with an onboard optical
connector, onboard power and reset buttons, an onboard diagnostic LED, and not
to mention the legacy PS/2 ports for my keyboard and mouse. This is definitely
the board to get."
An Overclockers Dream
The IT7 MAX2 v 2.0 was also tops in overclocking: "You surely
did notice the insanely high FSB overclock we recorded with this board as well.
I am convinced that ABIT engineers gave up a few benchmark points at default in
order to increase the stability on the OC side of things. And stability is one
thing that this board is not lacking. The IT7-MAX2 performed flawlessly without
a single issue during my time with it."
"All in all, after two reviewers had the opportunity to spend a month or so with
the ABIT IT7-MAX2, we both came away with great feelings about the board and our
experiences with it. ABIT continues to set the trends with the IT7-MAX2 by
delivering a great product that we must call a [H]ardOCP Top Pick."
