Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., December 23, 2002 -
NVIDIA's nForce2 chipset is arguably one of the most powerful AMD chipsets
available. Combine that with ABIT Engineering, and you've got the NF7-S, a
motherboard that's taking the hardware world by storm. Rodney Reynolds,
also known as 3DGameMan, recently took a look at the new NF7-S motherboard, and
liked it so much, decided to award it with his Kickass GameMan's Choice
Award!
Rodney does a good sum up of some of the features of the NF7-S: "The ABIT
NF7-S Motherboard is based on nForce2 chipset which delivers bandwidth speeds up
to and beyond 333MHz. This board sports onboard 5.1 Channel Audio, USB2, LAN and
RAID Serial ATA. It's stable, performs well and is great at overclocking."
Next, he delves into the powerful Softmenu BIOS: "In here, you can go and set
all kinds of different options to overclock your CPU...the FSB can go all the
way up to 237MHz, also the multiplier here can go all the way up to x22. And
something great about this board is that you can manually enter an AGP
frequency, all the way to 99MHz. And also something very neat about this is that
you can set the DRAM ratio...you can adjust that frequency to get the optimum
performance out of your memory."
What was Rodney's conclusion? "This board performs well, is stable, and is
great at overclocking. I was able to get the board up to around
182MHz...overall, this board pretty much has everything you're ever going to
need in a new Socket 462 motherboard. This product is definitely kickass!"
