Enthusiasts around the world know that when it's an overclocking motherboard you
need, ABIT is the only name you need to know. ABIT boards are engineered to be
the fastest, most tweakable boards available. Hardware website PureOC
recently tested the newly released KD7-RAID, and liked it so much,
decided to award it with their Editor's Choice Award!
PureOC takes a close look at the powerful options in the KD7-RAID's SoftMenu:
"Overclocking is something ABIT looks seriously and and by looking at the BIOS
option it's pretty obvious. The KD7-RAID like previous boards uses the famous
ABIT SoftMenu III. The KD7-RAID offers Vcore values up to 2.35V whereas memory
voltage can also be tweaked to 3.25v. This will definitely give you enough
voltage to overclock your CPU and memory to the max. There are lots of other
options also, the FSB can be changed form 100 to 250MHz in 1MHz steps and the
multiplier goes all the way up to 22.5X thanks to the 5bit FID..."
Overclocking is tops on the KD7-RAID: "Our overclocking adventure with this
board was also very positive, usually when we overclock boards we turn up the
FSB in 2-3MHz steps until we find the highest stable FSB but not on this boards,
with the KD7-RAID we took 10MHz steps because we knew we could expect a high FSB
and this is what we got. Our final result was 195MHz FSB..."
Final thoughts? "This board offers AGP8X (that works), an improved v-link
architecture, onboard sound/LAN, CPU internal diode reader, a 12VATX power
connector (unique), USB2.0 and lots of new improved BIOS options to choose
between. Not only that but the board also unlock the multiplier on the new
Thoroughbred B CPU's, we where able to change the multiplier on our XP2800+
without doing any changes to it, quite handy if you are into overclocking, this
save you some time."
