Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., November 6 - ABIT
has always been known for motherboards that provide users with the Maximum Edge.
With robust features, rock-solid stability, and unmatched performance, ABIT
boards are engineered for the most discerning hardware enthusiast. The newly
released IT7-MAX2, part of ABIT's MAX Series of motherboards, follows in that
same ABIT tradition. After running the IT7-MAX2 through a series of tests,
hardware authority Motherboards.org found that the IT7-MAX2 was definitely a
winner, and awarded it with their Editor's Choice Award.
Motherboards.org was quick to notice some of the extensive features found on the
IT7-MAX2: "A LAN option is also available on-board courtesy of the Realtek 8100B
10/100M PCI Fast Ethernet controller...Sound is provided by the Realtek ALC650
chip which works in conjunction with ABIT's own AC2001A chip to provide
six-channel surround sound to your desktop that actually works well enough to be
used in a hardcore gamers system...Overall a solid package with no real
drawbacks is what is under the hood of the ABIT IT7-MAX2."
Features are nice, but what about the performance? "The performance of this
board is very high on the food chain and should put the ABIT IT7-MAX 2 in the
top range of the comparison charts. This is definitely an enthusiast's dream
board and should please most anyone with its features and savvy performance."
Here's the verdict: "Overall I thought this board was a winner as it addressed
the issues previously found on the IT7-MAX and showed great stability where it
failed. ABIT has done a good job with bringing this board to the table and
hopefully it will get then some marketing attention. I am giving this board an
Editors choice award as the good outweighs the bad in the final picture."
Final Rating: 95%
