Taipei, Taiwan, ROC, July 24, 2002 -
After the spectacular success of the revolutionary IT7 MAX, ABIT has done it
again. Based on the Intel 845E chipset, the IT7 MAX2 still offers users a
robust high performance computing platform with 10 USB 2.0 ports, 3 IEEE 1394
ports, RAID, onboard LAN, 6-Channel Audio and ABIT Softmenu™.
ABIT Serillel™ ATA
The IT7 MAX2 comes complete with ABIT Seriallel™ ATA, a converter cable
that enables users to connect parallel HDDs to the serial ports on the IT7 MAX2.
Users now have the option of using parallel or serial drives without having to
worry about wasting system resources on serial ports that may not be used. Users
can now have the option of hooking up 4 channel RAID with parallel or serial
drives, making the IT7 MAX2 the most flexible and user-responsive motherboard
on the market.
PS/2 Ports?
Users may notice a few other changes to the IT7 MAX2. While the parallel and
serial ports are still gone, we've taken the bold step of putting the PS/2 ports
back on. Why, you may ask? Well, we listened to the end users, and while many of
them applauded our removal of the legacy devices, many were not ready to go out
and buy a new keyboard and mouse.
A Platform for Today and Tomorrow
With the IT7 MAX 2, ABIT has updated the MAX concept: we've given users a
cutting edge platform that will allow them to easily and smoothly adapt to the
upcoming serial ATA technology, while keeping the technology that end users are
comfortable with. |
