Taipei, Taiwan, ROC, July 9, 2002 - ABIT's newest high performance, full featured motherboards, the AT7 MAX and IT7 MAX, have been getting rave reviews worldwide. Now, highly respected hardware site Hot Hardware has taken a look at the MAX series, concluding
"ABIT has done a fantastic job with the AT7 and IT7 MAX motherboards."
What Hot Hardware appreciated the most was that the AT7 and IT7 represented forward thinking and the very latest in technological achievement:
"Basically, the point we're trying to get across is that even though newer, superior options may be available, most OEMs are reluctant to abandon the "old" standards in an effort maintain compatibility with the largest possible pool of hardware. On the other hand, we have the ever fearless, ABIT Computer, always thinking a bit "out of the
box"...the AT7 and IT7 are the first two models in ABIT's new MAX line of "Legacy Free" products. ABIT still manufactures quite a few products with legacy features on-board, but the MAX line aims to please the hardcore enthusiast, who wants nothing but cutting edge
technology..."
Hot Hardware being the enthusiasts they are, overclocking is very important to them:
"Overclocking with the AT7 and IT7 MAX motherboards was very easy, thanks to ABIT's powerful Soft Menu III. Both of these boards offer a very complete set of overclocking options, that allow you to adjust the CPU core, DDR and I/O
voltages."
In the end, Hot Hardware loved the MAX boards so much, they awarded the IT7 their
Editor's Choice: "Both of these boards performed very well and maintained rock solid stability throughout our battery of tests. ABIT's excellent SoftMenu III is also available on both boards, which makes overclocking with either of them a breeze. The build quality and bundles are top-notch, as is the list of on-board features. They are a bit more expensive than similar products, but in our opinion your money would be well spent on either of these
motherboards."
