Taipei, Taiwan, ROC, June 19, 2002 - ABIT's renowned KT333 solution, the KX7-333R, continues to amaze hardware reviewers world wide. This time, Maximum 3D was so impressed with the KX7, they rated it 5/5, saying
"the KX7-333R is everything you could ask for in a KT333 board."
The reviewer's first impressions contributed to the overall score: "Overall, the package is solid. The manual is well written…ABIT includes a decent software disc, with copies of Norton AV and WinDVD. The layout of the board is another strong point for the KX7-333R, and ABIT's engineers have obviously listened to the requests of
users."
When it came down to tweaking the KX7 for optimum performance, Maximum 3D found the KX7 was up to the task:
"What makes ABIT special is the care they take to give enthusiasts a stable, overclocking-friendly platform. The backbone of this is the Soft Menu III…overclocking the KX7-333R was a lesson in simplicity…SoftMenu III, of course, is the best part of overclocking with an ABIT board. While some companies talk about jumperless boards, the KX7-333R is jumperless. The only jumper I had to touch was the CMOS clear after clocking the CPU a little to high, and that was to be
expected."
After overclocking the KX7, they found that it was extremely stable and worthy of the ABIT name:
"Stability was excellent, and we experienced no major malfunctions that could be attributed to the motherboard. We've had this board running for a solid week now, doing various benchmarks, and day-to-day computing and gaming. I have a hard time reading reviews that have only been running a component for 24 hours, maybe 48 if we are lucky, and then claim stability; thus we try to get a very solid idea before our reviews go online. The KX7-333R has been trouble free, as we have come to expect from
ABIT."
Final Score: 5/5
