ABIT's BD7-RAID, a favorite of enthusiasts since its impressive debut, has received the Tweakers Asylum
"Life Sentence" Award.
As usual, the reviewer was impressed with overclocking features that come standard with ABIT boards:
"ABIT's Softmenu III makes overclocking a snap. There are even options to lock your PCI bus at 33 MHz. The onboard Highpoint 372 RAID controller is a solid performer, and it also lets you use normal disks on it without turning them into an
array."
When put to the test against the competition, the ABIT board came out on top: "These results made me chuckle. The Epox board was intent on locking the ram down to PC2100 spec, but the ABIT board let me pour on the heat. As a result, we have some serious owning going on in this
area."
"I had a lot of fun working with the ABIT BD7-RAID. It's a solid performer, extremely stable, and a pretty decent value at around $110. As usual, ABIT has produced a quality product that the whole spectrum of system builders can appreciate. I would recommend this board to anyone who intends to build a P4 system, especially people who want to easily route their cables This board definitely takes the title away from the 4BDA 2+, and the BD7-RAID is worthy of my personal and professional recommendations, as well as the TweakersAsylum Life Sentence Award. Great job ABIT, your products truly live up to the slogans. As usual, your engineering team saved my butt again!
