Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., March 15, 2002 --
ABIT's BD7-RAID, a favorite of enthusiasts since its impressive debut, has moved
into Motherboards.org "Top Ten List" and received their "Editors Choice" award.
However, it seems that this news comes as no surprise to Doc Overclock:"I have
always enjoyed using ABIT motherboards, as they have continually made products
that have the overclocker in mind. Combine that with their proven SoftMenu™
technology and things have only gotten easier. There are other BIOS
configurations that support overclocking, but theirs is the easiest and by far
most user-friendly, a fact I believe most hardcore enthusiasts would agree
with."
In terms of performance, Doc Overclock found that the BD7 easily lived up to its
reputation: "The ABIT BD7-RAID pulls ahead of any of the boards we used in last
weeks roundup in SYSmark2001, where it pulled an even score of 200, the fastest
we have seen yet…the BD7-RAID performed even better overclocked. Even when
pushed to a 115MHz FSB the system was still stable with an increase in both the
memory and CPU core voltage."
Doc's conclusions are not surprising, given the tweakability and resulting
performance of the BD7-RAID: "Overall this is one solid performer that will
please many users both in the enthusiasts or business environment. I like this
board a lot and in fact it has become my project board in my modification
experiment…I had no problems with this motherboard in either the stability or
compatibility areas. It was rock solid stable and worked with everything we used
while testing and running it. This is definitely an Editor's Choice product due
to its overall feature set and performance. ABIT has once again proven that they
make great motherboards and moves in to the top ten in our new rating system.
Good job people the BD7-RAID rocks. It's a one spicy meatball."
