Q: PowerStrip Utility v3.45 reports the core/memory frequencies of ABIT Siluro FX5800 are 300/600, according to the product specification they should be 400/800, how to set it? (Siluro FX5800 DOTH, Siluro FX5800 DOTH Deluxe)
A: NVidia FX5800 features "2D mode" and "3D mode". The former is with core/memory frequency 300/600 and the latter is 400/800. The graphic driver will apply 2D mode (300/600) by default for power saving purpose and automatically switch to 3D mode (400/800) while playing 3D games. You could manually enable the 3D mode by below two methods to check the core/memory frequencies of 400/800.

[Method 1]

  1. Installed the Graphic MAX utility which is included in the graphic CD-Title.
  2. Restart your system.
  3. Open ABIT Graphic Max Utility then close it.
  4. Right-click the Windows Desktop and click Properties. Click Advanced button in Settings page.
  5. Left-click "GeForce FX 5800" then click Clock Frequencies tab to enter. Click "Allow clock frequency adjustments" and click "Settings".
  6. Select "Performance [3D]" and click "Apply" to finish the Settings. You will see the core/memory frequencies are 400/800 MHz.

[Method 2]

  1. Click the Taskbar icon of PowerStrip menu. Move the mouse to "Performance profiles" then click "Configure…" to enter.
  2. Click "Advanced memory timing" then Select "Performance [3D]" and click Ok.
(If you found the problem can’t saving Engine/Memory clock are 400/800 in Performance [3D]
, that is PowerStrip v3.45 issue, don’t worry.)
  3. Click the Taskbar icon of PowerStrip menu. Move the mouse to "Options..." then click "Adapter
    information..." to enter.
  4. Scroll thru the list of "Diagnostic report" to see the Memory/Engine clocks are 800/400MHz.

We suggest with Method 1 to validate core/memory frequencies of ABIT Siluro FX5800.
