Q: |
Why does my system fail to get into S3 (Suspend To RAM) stand-by mode under Windows 2000 when use USB keyboard and mouse? (IS7, IC7 Series) |
A: |
IC7/IS7 series motherboards offers "Wake-up Header" to switch the power supply
mode of USB and PS/2 devices (PS2-PWR1,USB-PWR1 and USB-PWR2 connector), which
default setting is Disabled and thus the wake-up from USB function is turned
off. In case you checked "Allow this to bring the computer out of standby "in
Device Manager, and set up "Resume by USB: Enable" from S3 in Power Management
Setup of BIOS, your system would be automatically awaken and can't normally
get into S3 (Suspend To RAM) stand-by mode.
To solve this problem, please follow one of the following workarounds:
- Set "Wake-up Header" to Enabled (Turn on supporting wake-up from USB port
function )
- In device manager, set"Allow this to bring the computer out of standby"
to Disabled for USB device. To wake up the system, you might need to push
power button rather than by USB devices.
- Set"Resume by USB from S3" to Disabled in Power Management page of BIOS
setup screen. To wake up the system, you might need to push power button rather
than by USB devices.
