Besides downloading the bios file, you also need the Flash Utility to flash bios rom. (For files before Aug 2001)

  • You won't need to update BIOS until the latest bios has improve / fix some functions.
  • You won't need to upgrade through all of the BIOS files, just upgrade to the latest one please and it will include all previous improvments.
  • The CMOS data will be lost after flashing the BIOS. You may need to enter the BIOS setup screen and configure your system information after rebooting the machine.

  1. Please use the AWDFLASH 8.23D or later flash utility to update NF7 series BIOS. With an incorrect AWDFLASH version, the GUID will be erased, leading to IEEE1394 peer to peer function failure. AWDFLASH 8.23K is included in this BIOS package.
  2. Fixed an issue where the PS/2 wheel mouse does not respond under certain conditions:
    1. Using certain PS/2 wheel mice and certain USB keyboards.
    2. PS/2 wheel mouse works fine but loses response on 1st, 3rd, 5th.... time restarting windows. However, it works fine on 2nd, 4th…. windows restart.
    3. For "PS/2 wheel mouse + PS/2 keyboard" and "USB wheel mouse + USB keyboard ", there no problems at all.

  4. Added Auto-Shutdown function when CCMOS jumper on pins 2-3. The correct CCMOS jumper should be on pins 1-2; in case it is placed on 2-3, the CPU core voltage will be abnormally high, and the system will shut down automatically to protect the CPU from damage.
  5. Fixed an issue where SATA HDD boot up would fail without a PS/2 mouse installed.
  6. Hid "SATA ROM BIOS" function on NF7V2.0.

  1. Fixed the problem that system hangs up with POST code 01 while resuming from STR mode with user defined DRAM timings. With default SPD setting, no problem at all and doesn't need this update.
  2. Fixed the problem that system hangs up at POST code FF with over clocking setting- change the multiplier factor from CPU default to 19.
  3. Fixed the problem that Barton 2500+ CPU is occasionally detected as Barton 3200+. If 400 FSB CPU is installed, users need to select correct CPU type in SoftMenuIII by themselves.

  1. For NF7 v2.0 motherboard, please update BIOS v1.6 in case the system intermittently hangs up at POST screen of PCI devices listing with BIOS v1.4 and earlier.
    Please update the bios by following steps,
    a. Format a floppy disk on another PC system in Windows.
    b. Copy "AWDFLASH.EXE" and "NF7D_16.BIN" files onto the floppy disk.
    c. Power on NF7 v2.0 system, insert the floppy disk into drive A, and press "Alt"+"F2" keys to update BIOS.
  2. Please use AWDFLASH 8.23D or later to update NF7 series BIOS. With incorrect AWDFLASH version, the GUID will be erased, and leads to IEEE1394 peer to peer function failed. AWDFLASH 8.23K is included in this BIOS package.
  3. Fixes systems freezes in S-ATA BIOS initial while using display card on PCI slot.
  4. Fixes the problem if FAN speeded too slow, system would hang at BIOS screen or at watching the status in PC health Status screen.

  9. Update SIP table to solve systems crashed issue while using 400FSB CPU+DDR 333, and revise the SIP Table of 266FSB CPU.
  10. The default value of "Memory Timings" revises to "Optimal".
  11. Updates BPL to be 2.94.
  12. Fix system can not show fan speed in PC Health Status while using lower speed FAN.
  13. Add"IDE Bus Master" function to improve transfer speed of GHOST, and default value set up to disabled.
  14. Fix the problem that systems can not detect USB Drvice under WinME resume from S3,S4 mode, and lead to usb connector failed.
  15. Fine tune the OC ability of 333FSB CPU.
